BIRM Media

Birm Media
BIRM Media

Birm Media is most effective and cost-effective iron removal filter media. It is producing in USA factory. This Birm Media is used for removing iron & manganese from untreated water. This media can be used in either gravity fed or pressurized water treatment systems. Birm media water treatment chemical is play role as an insoluble catalyst. It enhances the reaction between DO and dissolve iron of untreated water. In Bangladesh generally ground waters found dissolved iron in the ferrous bicarbonate form due to the excess of free carbon dioxide and is not filterable. Since Birm Media act as a catalyst so, the oxidation reaction of Fe++ to Fe+++ and produces ferric hydroxide which precipitates and may be easily filtered.

The physical features of Birm Media deliver an outstanding filter media which is easily cleaned by backwashing to remove the precipitant. It offers a wonderful cost-saving compare to other iron removal media due to Birm is not consumed in the iron during filtration. This media also have others advantages. Such as, long life time and require less quantity if compare to others traditional filter media. During using Birm media for iron Removal Plant, it is necessary that the water contain no oil or hydrogen sulfide, organic matter not to exceed 4-5 ppm, the D.O. content equal at least 15% of the iron content with a pH of 6.8 or more.

ADVANTAGES
  • Under the proper conditions, no chemicals to purchase for maintenance. Regenerant not required.
  • Iron removal efficiency is extremely high.
