What Is Irox N70

Irox N70 is a special type of Iron Removal Media that is coated with manganese oxide. It is a common and well-known Water Treatment Filter Media which removes hydrogen sulfide, iron and manganese. The manufacturing process of Irox N70 begins with glauconite. The glauconite is cleaned and then filtered (sifted) so only the pieces of greensand of the proper size are kept. Once all the correctly sized pieces are collected, they are coated with manganese oxide. So, it comes best performance to remove Iron from contaminated water. It contains hydrogen sulfide that is reduced by oxidation to an insoluble sulfur precipitate. Precipitates are then clean and unconcerned during backwashing as per particular guideline. During the reacting capacity influence of the Irox bed is exhausted, the bed has to be renewed with a specific PP (It called Potassium Permanganate, formula is KMnO4) solution therefore, returning the oxidizing capacity of the bed. 1½ to 2 ounces of KMnO4 in solution. If consider per cft of IROX is considered sufficient for normal regeneration. It is compulsory to dynamically backwash during fill up the Irox beginning the vessel. And it will best performance if can regenerate the bed when it is placed in service.

How Does Irox N70 Work?

Irox N70 is a special type filter media which works as a catalyst to improve water quality by removing iron and manganese from Raw Water. And it also works other contaminants in tap water from municipal water supplies and deep Tube-well. It is combinedly responsible for the chemical reactions stirring inside the filter system to eliminate iron, manganese, radium, arsenic, and hydrogen sulfide from contaminated water from any sources. These kind of highly contaminants precipitate and get absorbed onto the granular filter media containing in our Irox N70.

What are the Filter Media That Use Irox N70?

In Bangladesh we can find several types of filter media in the water treatment industry that uses this media as a catalyst for the removal of iron and manganese. It also include Zeomangan, Manganese Zeolite, Katalox Light, Manganese Greensand, Birm Media, and so on. Performance , feedback, customer opinion and results may vary from one filter media to the other iron removal media. However, these Irox N70 Iron Removal Media is one kind of non coated filter media are all effective in absorbing contaminants in the water.

What are the Conditions for Operations of Irox N70?

This iron removal filter media is one kind of non-coated filter media runs best in the right conditions for operations. And it will last longer if followed thoroughly throughout its years of service. In most of the case we found cases, the required backwashing for the filter media is 20 to 30 minutes regularly. Backwashing the filter media is the key to success when it comes to manganese dioxide coated filter media. The impact of the rough filter media is vital, as well as the media attrition during the backwashing process that we know very well.

Is Irox N70 Coated Media an Effective Type of Filter Media?

If used according to its purpose, Irox is non-coated filter media will do what it does best. IN long term as it is operating under the rightest condition, MnO2 media will remove and absorb iron and manganese in the raw water. It is widely well known one of the most effective grainy types of Iron removal filter media used in the treatment of drinking water in every sector.
